Credit Acquisition Strategy Product Owner, Synchrony Bank, Stamford, CT. Perform data mining to support POC and advanced data analytics projects. Engage with clients and internal stakeholders to optimize data gathering. Utilize data analytics to work on large datasets and to develop opportunities for innovation. Extract and analyze data from multiple technology systems and platforms. Work with subject matter experts across the organization to accelerate learning of data structures and facilitate the use of data analytics tools. Perform ad-hoc analytics. Develop metrics to track the performance of multiple credit strategy initiatives. Work with the Enterprise Data Lake team to promote the continuous development and improvement of data science tools. Communicate the status of data analytics tools and initiatives to stakeholders and leadership.
40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field, and three (3) years of related work experience in a data analytics position for the financial services industry. In the alternative, the employer will accept a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in a stated field plus one (1) year of experience.
Must have one (1) year of experience with/in:
Performing data analytics on large datasets and analyzing trends;
Utilizing statistical tools including at least 3 of the following: SAS, R, Python, Advanced Excel Macros, and SQL;
Analyzing large data sets within the financial services sector;
Utilizing Model Builder Decision Tree and Knowledge Seeker;
Utilizing modeling techniques supporting at least one of the following: Capital Planning, Stress Testing (DFAST, CCAR), ALL, or Loss Forecasting; and,
Adopting emerging technologies and utilizing statistical predictive models including linear and logistic regression, time series techniques, big data analytics, and machine learning.
