The Bates College Department of Physics and Astronomy invites applications for a one-year, full-time, five-course position as VisitingAssistant Professor in 2020–21, starting August 2020. The applicant should have a Ph.D. in physics, astronomy, or a related field, in hand or completed by July 2020. The successful candidate will teach introductory and upper-level courses in a vigorous undergraduate program. Candidates who can add substantive diversity of thought and/or experience and candidates who have experience with inclusive pedagogy supportive of an increasingly diverse student body are encouraged to apply.
