The Department of Radiology at Mayo Clinic is currently seeking a postdoctoral Research Fellow with interest and expertise in the field of medical physics and x-ray computed tomography (CT) imaging for a full-time position under the mentorship of Prof. Lifeng Yu. The appointed research fellow will work on CT imaging physics, image quality assessment, and radiation dose optimization. The successful candidate must hold a Ph.D. degree in Physics, Medical Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Candidates should have a solid physics background and strong programming skills. Experience in imaging science and x-ray CT is desirable, but not required. Candidates should have a strong interest in a future career in academia or industry. Opportunities will also be provided if the candidates are interested in a clinical medical physics career path. A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research. Individuals will train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants.
