The Office of Public Utilities is seeking individuals of all experience levels to fill several Engineer vacancies in the City’s Electric Transmission & Distribution Division including the departments of Electric Operations, Transmission Planning, Distribution Planning, T&D Standards, Substation Engineering, and System Protection Engineering. These positions require knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of a bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited university. Ability to obtain an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) in Illinois or a Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Illinois is preferred. The level of position will be based on experience and education. Current employees (where applicable) and persons hired or rehired after 1-1-17 shall maintain their bona fide residence within the corporate limits of the city during all periods of service. Newly hired or rehired employees have 12 months from date of hire to establish city residency.
