The University of North Carolina at Charlotte is seeking applications for a Director of Engineering for the Facilities Management department. The mission of Facilities Management is to provide a quality learning, research, and living environment for the benefit of students, faculty, staff, and the community by planning, building, operating, and maintaining the campus of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering from ABET accredited university and fifteen years of related engineering experience in facilities management.
Essential Job Duties: The primary purpose of this position is to lead the Engineering Services unit in providing professional engineering oversight for all mechanical, plumbing, and utility systems on the campus. Within Facilities Management, this position ensures there is a common engineering response for projects of all types, planning activities and within day to day operating areas. The incumbent will ensure work is completed in compliance with local, state and federal rules/regulations governing the area of work. This includes but is not limited to North Carolina Mechanical and Plumbing Codes, National Fire Prevention Code, National Electrical Code, ASME pressure vessel codes, manufacturer's technical manuals, University and State Personnel Policy manuals, specifications, drawings, and any other applicable rules, laws or regulations in making decisions relating to Personnel actions and/or maintenance requirements.
