Instrument Design Engineer—Firmware
Stanford Research Systems has an immediate opening in Research and Development for an instrumentation-focused experimentalist to join us as a firmware/software designer in building a new generation of scientific and engineering products. Initial responsibilities may include embedded firmware programming in C or C++ running on microcontrollers or FPGA-embedded processors.
Experience with programming is required, while some background with electronics design is desirable. Familiarity with laboratory electronics and instruments is a plus, as is an understanding of techniques related to measurements and noise.
An advanced degree in experimental physical science, or equivalent experience, is required. The successful candidate must be able to work well both collaboratively and independently in an unstructured environment, and will have significant latitude in designing products and developing future area of instrumentation for SRS.
