The Alabama NSF EPSCoR program sponsors a 10-week Corporate Internship Program on Plasma Technology Applications (CIPPTA) for students pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The program provides students at Alabama partner institutions with quality experiences on plasma technology applications at private companies and allows students the opportunity to establish connections with industry and university professionals. It is open to undergraduate and graduate students in a broad spectrum of disciplines.
Undergraduate students receive a $6,000 and graduate students receive a $7,000 stipend.
10-week research experiences are offered near Birmingham, Auburn, and Huntsville.
Areas of research: Engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, and more.

About NSF EPSCoR CPU2AL
The CPU2AL project involves a partnership comprising nine universities and a research corporation in Alabama and is funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) through an Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR). The project shares resources and leverage partnerships among Alabama institutions and industries to strengthen the research capacity and to build and train an inclusive workforce in plasma science and technology. The CPU2AL NSF EPSCoR program administers a broad range of student programs to science and engineering students in Alabama partner institutions. The ultimate goal of the program is to engage a diverse, educated, and skilled pool of scientists and engineers to promote long-term relationships between students, academia, and industry to enhance the Alabama workforce.
